As Creative Director for the AIChE Annual Meeting, I developed a unique visual identity each year that aligned with the conference theme while reflecting the host city. In 2020, I used vibrant ribbon-inspired elements to visually express the theme, The Increasing Diversity of Chemical Engineering, symbolizing the convergence of different perspectives, disciplines, and ideas while conveying energy, inclusion, and forward movement. In 2021, the theme Building the Bridge in 21st Century Education: Chemical Engineering Industry + Academia inspired a visual identity centered on connection and collaboration. Drawing on the AIChE logo, I created a bridge-like graphic system complemented by red and blue tones inspired by the host city, Boston. For the 2022 Arizona meeting, themed "Powering the Future," I created a sunburst-inspired identity that conveyed energy, innovation, and forward momentum. IIn 2023, the theme Leading the Way to a Sustainable Future" inspired a dynamic brand system centered on a turbine motif, symbolizing clean energy, innovation, and progress. Coral and aqua hues, influenced by the Orlando location, brought vibrancy and a sense of environmental optimism to the visual identity. For 2024’s theme, Chemical Engineering Reimagine, I designed a visual language built on bold geometric shapes that symbolized innovation, progress, and the future of engineering.
